
Vice President of Display Sales / Online Advertising / San Diego

Overview
We are seeking a proven advertising sales professional to help us grow and manage the online display portion of our advertising network. You should be able to generate substantial revenues from your direct industry contacts, as well as manage a team of experienced and motivated sales professionals located in key markets across the U.S. You will also have the industry knowledge, ability and desire to manage our entire sales function (both display and performance-based advertising) within 12 months of joining the company.
Job Description
The Vice President, Display Sales is responsible for leading all aspects of revenue generation within our display advertising network.
Responsibilities include establishing, developing and implementing sales programs, structuring deals with direct advertisers, advertising agencies, advertising networks and publishers. In addition you will be responsible for developing and sustaining satisfied partner/customer relationships and for developing, setting and achieving revenue goals. More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and leading the advertiser recruitment strategy and efforts.
- Developing sales plans with revenue forecasts and targets.
- Implementing and achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
- Evaluating personnel to ensure that sales quotas remain within expectations, and taking appropriate steps as necessary to deliver to plan.
- Segmenting market and prioritizing customers.
- Structuring and negotiating deal terms.
- Gathering market information from publishers, advertisers, merchants, etc., and helping to drive the evolution of company’s business plan and strategy.
- Managing pricing and offers across the network.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of increasingly responsible sales experience with at least 3 years in the interactive/network/online category.
- Experience structuring advertising deals through online channels.
- Experience building an ad network and/or exchanges.
- Experience using and explaining advertising related products (Atlas, DoubleClick, etc) to online publishers and advertisers.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop and articulate ROI goals.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects.
- Previous experience generating revenues in high-growth markets.
- Established senior level contacts within online media agencies and clients; very deep rolodex into major media agencies and large national advertisers.
